America the Beautiful Senior Pass
For U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are 62 years or older, The America the Beautiful Senior Pass can be purchased for $10.00. It provides access to more than 2,000 recreation sites managed by five Federal agencies, with up to 100% of the proceeds being used to improve and enhance visitor recreation services.

Department of Veteran Affairs
If you are a veteran or a surviving spouse of a veteran, you may be eligible to receive a VA pension commonly called “Aid and Attendance” to help pay for long term care in an assisted living community or home setting. The Department of Veteran Affairs and the US Department of Veteran Affairs Aid and Attendance Pension offer information about this monthly pension.

The American Healthcare Association is the nation’s largest association of long-term and post-acute care providers. It advocates for quality care and services for frail, elderly, and disabled Americans. Members of AHA provide essential care to approximately one million individuals in 12,000 not-for-profit and proprietary member facilities.

The Georgia Department of Human Services offers a Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program designed to improve the quality of life for residents of long-term care facilities. These facilities include nursing homes and personal care homes.
National Association of Veterans and Families
Sorting through Veterans paperwork and determining eligibility for Aid and Attendance can be overwhelming to many elderly veterans and their spouses. The National Association Veterans and Families is a non-profit Veterans Support Center that provides direct assistance regarding better living and health services for American Senior Veterans and their surviving spouses.
National Center on Elder Abuse
Older Americans should age with dignity and honor. The National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) is one of 27 Administration on Aging-funded Resource Centers. It is the place to turn to for up-to-date information regarding research, training, best practices, news and resources on elder abuse, neglect and exploitation. The Center provides information to policy makers, professionals in the elder justice field, and the public.

Coastal Regional Commission - Area Agency on Aging
The Coastal Area Agency on Aging (AAA), Coastal Georgia’s advocate for seniors, was formed in 1973, as a department of the Coastal Regional Commission (CRC). They strive to develop a comprehensive, coordinated system of services which promotes the independence and well-being of older adults, those with disabilities and their caregivers, and to provide these individuals with information and access to needed services. They serve the coastal region, which includes Bryan, Bulloch, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long and McIntosh counties.

The Center for Social Gerontology is a cross-disciplinary collaborative center at Georgia Southern University whose mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of aging persons and their families and communities. Anyone is welcome to become involved.
Rockin' Out Alzheimer's Disease
Rockin’ Out Alzheimer’s promotes awareness of Alzheimer’s disease, provides support to caregivers through educational or financial resources, supports funding for additional research, and encourages nursing students to choose senior care by funding scholarships.
